Mick Halpin

Managing Member

Mick is a principal and managing member of ICG and one of the founding Principals of HSC Real Estate, Inc., where he was president from 1989 – 2001. Mick oversees ICG’s acquisition activity. He has extensive experience in multifamily management, acquisition, rehabilitation and dispositions. He was previously an asset manager for a national real estate company. He has negotiated the purchase of over 100 apartment projects with a collective value of over $2 billion. Mick graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a degree in Business Administration

Mike Christian

Managing Member

Mike is a Founder, Principal and Managing Member of ICG and a Principal of Avenue5 Residential. Mike is responsible for Asset Management, Construction Management and Dispositions. He was a founding member of HSC Real Estate. He has been a key principal on over $2 Billion in multifamily transactions. Mike has extensive multifamily experience over a 35-year career in the industry. Mike has a degree in Finance from Washington State University.

Ward Murphy

Principal, Director of Investor Relations

Ward joined ICG as Director of Investor Relations in 2002 and has been a Principal since 2005. He is also a principal in Avenue5 Residential, ICG’s affiliated management company. Previously he spent 10 years at Seattle-Northwest Securities where he served as Vice President of Institutional Sales on the bond-trading desk selling fixed-income securities to institutional investors and also as an investment banker for bond-financed real estate projects. Earlier in his career he worked for Honeywell’s Buildings Group in Chicago. During his tenure as ICG’s Director of Investor Relations Ward has worked with over 1,000 investors to raise more than $500 million in equity for approximately $2 billion in apartment project acquisitions. Ward received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Tulane University.

Jim McCullough

Senior VP of Finance and Acquisitions

Jim is ICG’s Senior VP of Acquisitions and facilitates all acquisitions. He was hired in 1995 at HSC Real Estate, Inc. and assisted in the formation of ICG LLC. He oversees and coordinates the acquisition transactions for ICG and all property financing. Jim has facilitated over $1.4 Billion in Multifamily Acquisitions and over $1.3 Billion in Multifamily Financing for ICG. He is the primary architect of ICG’s proprietary underwriting models. He has a BS in Finance and a BS in Accounting from Central Washington University.

Tracy Russell

Controller

As Controller, Tracy oversees a team of accountants. She’s responsible for all financial reporting and daily accounting functions. Each year, she coordinates audits and tax documents. Tracy also handles human resources and payroll for the company. Prior to joining ICG in 2007, she served as an accountant with HSC Real Estate. Tracy started her property management journey at Phillips Real Estate in 1998, where she learned property accounting. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Washington and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance from Eastern Washington University.

Matt Christensen

VP, Asset Management

Matt is Vice President of Asset Management overseeing ICG’s Asset Management and Construction Management departments. Matt works with internal and 3rd party teams to effectively direct the operations of the current investment portfolio, execute on business plans, report on asset performance, and ultimately deliver results for investors. In addition, he handles all investment dispositions from listing to closing. He started at ICG in 2011 as an Asset Manager shortly after graduating with honors from Gonzaga University where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance.

Nick Ketcham

Investor Relations Manager

As a part of the Investor Relations team, Nick interacts with an investor base of 800+ individuals and has assisted in raising $150 million of equity. His primary responsibilities are identifying and onboarding new investors, responding to investor inquiries, helping raise equity for projects, and managing the organization of special events. Before switching his focus to Investor Relations, Nick had been working on the Acquisition team with ICG since 2019. He grew up in the Seattle area and graduated from Washington State University.

Elliott Cain

Acquisitions Manager

Elliott works on ICG’s Acquisition team. His responsibilities include property underwriting, pursuit, negotiation, and due diligence. Prior to joining ICG in 2018, he worked at Zevenbergen Capital Investments where he managed the launch and distribution of two mutual funds, and at Scottrade where we worked as an Investment Consultant. He is a 3rd generation multifamily professional and has over a decade of hands-on experience assisting his family with the management of two apartment buildings. Elliott is a CFA Charterholder, and has a BS in Finance from Washington State University.

Jack Goldberg

Acquisitions Manager

Jack is on the Acquisition team at ICG and works to source, negotiate, and close deals across the western half of the United States. Since joining ICG in 2020, he has been working with senior leadership to assess new asset types and investment strategies. Before joining ICG, Jack served as the Director of Public Affairs and Communications at the largest lobbying and PR firm in the western United States where he focused on business consulting and capital raising. Jack received a BS in Communications from Boston University.

Bret Halpin

Acquisitions Manager

Bret is a member of ICG’s acquisition team. Bret communicates with brokers in the Arizona, Utah and Montana markets with the goal of identifying potential properties for ICG to acquire. His responsibilities include property underwriting, pursuit, negotiation, and due diligence. Prior to joining ICG in 2021, he worked at Berkadia for several years, where he assisted with the underwriting and origination of agency, HUD, and bank loans. Bret graduated from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona with a degree in economics and a minor in urban and regional development.

Lee Simmons

Acquisitions Analyst

Lee works as a Financial Analyst on ICG’s Acquisition Team. Since joining the team in 2020, he primarily focuses on deal underwriting and market analysis, and utilizes his proficiency in excel to improve ICG’s financial modeling techniques. Lee graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Business Management.

August Evans

Acquisitions Analyst

August joined ICG’s Acquisition team in 2023 after serving as an Acquisitions & Investor Relations Intern during the summer of 2022. Since returning, he has assumed the role of Acquisitions Analyst assisting with the preliminary underwriting for properties and market analysis. August graduated from the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a BS in Finance.

Ryan Ellingsen

Asset Manager

Ryan is an Asset Manager at ICG, overseeing a portfolio of roughly 1,600 units. Ryan has been a part of ICG since 2014. Previously he was on ICG’s Acquisition team where his duties primarily consisted of deal underwriting, market analysis and IT support. Ryan attended Washington State University, where he received bachelor’s degrees in both Finance and Management Information Systems.

Zach Smith

Asset Manager

As part of the Asset Management team, Zach oversees a portfolio of about 1400 units located in select west coast markets. Zach has been a part of ICG since 2021 and has on-site property management experience with lease-ups, renovations, and mixed-use properties. Zach attended Montana State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in History.

Jared Haines

Construction Manager

Jared works on ICG’s Asset Management team as the Construction Manager. He oversees all capital projects from pre-acquisition to completion across ICG’s portfolio. Jared manages all construction related activities and coordinates work with Property Management on scheduling, planning, staging, and site logistics. Prior to joining ICG in 2013, he was working as a Project Manager for a general contractor in the Greater Seattle area. Jared holds a bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University.

Cierra Roberts-Kirby

Property Accountant

As a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional, Cierra Roberts-Kirby has been meeting the needs of ICG in property accounting. Her primary responsibilities are communicating with the property managers and making sure the accounting side of the properties are handled properly. She has been with ICG since November 2021. Cierra grew up just south of Seattle and graduated from Northern Arizona University. After graduating and exploring Arizona, Cierra moved back to the beautiful PNW and has no plans of leaving anytime soon.

Virgie Fernandez

Property Accountant

Virgie started working in Accounting field since she graduated from the University of Pangasinan (Philippines) with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She used to work in Coldwell Banker in Honolulu, Hawaii. Upon moving here in Seattle in 2019 , Virgie temporarily worked at an agency and later moved to HSC Real Estate, inc. (now ICG). She works as a property accountant and she intends to finish her career in the same field.

Michele Lee

Property Accountant

Michele works as a Property Accountant on ICG’s Accounting team. She has been working in the accounting field for over 20 years, and joined ICG in February of 2022. Michele has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Western New England College.

Serena Gasper

Property Accountant

Serena joined ICG in 2023 as a Property Accountant with a few years of commercial real estate and general accounting experience. Previously, she has worked at Lake Washington Partners and Moss Adams. She graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting. As a recent addition to the Seattle area, Serena is excited to explore the city and take advantage of outdoor activities that the PNW has to offer.

Jessienne Derissaint

Accounting Clerk

Jessienne works as the Accounting Clerk on ICG’s Accounting team. She has worked with ICG since 2018, assisting the accounting team with various tasks. Jessienne is an animal lover who spends her free time volunteering at her church.

Lauren Yanajai

Executive Assistant/Office Manager

Lauren Yanajai joined ICG in 2023 as an Executive Assistant and Office Manager. She is an experienced administrator who had been working in the construction industry for over seven years. Raised in the state of Washington, Lauren recently returned to the Pacific Northwest after living and working in Phoenix, AZ. She currently resides in Ballard and is working towards her degree in Business Management.

Brianna Pianh

Administrative Assistant

Brianna is our Administrative Assistant who started at ICG in 2023. She assists ICG’s Asset Management and Investor Relations departments and handles a wide range of office administration tasks. Prior to joining ICG, she worked at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health on the administrative side in specialty care and has a background in the field of law. She grew up and currently resides in South Seattle, and is pursuing an associate’s degree in business management at Eastern Gateway Community College. During her downtime, Brianna enjoys spending time with her loved ones and cooking.
